Nine of the hottest startups in Luxembourg
ith its rich historical culture, great geographical location and ample economic opportunities, it’s a little known fact that Luxembourg has become a haven for ambitious entrepreneurs.
With almost half of its residents of foreign origin, Luxembourg’s startup scene is comprised of a generous mix of local and international talent. Buoyed by a booming financial services industry, Luxembourg is one of the richest countries in Europe, and with generous support from the government, startups can enjoy access to a broad variety of resources.
To give you a sense of what the entrepreneurial scene is like, we’ve put together a list of nine startups and their elevator pitches, all of which are also featured in our Startup Guide Luxembourg book.
1 – Aiva
Aiva is an artificial intelligence company that composes emotional soundtracks for entertainment content, such as video games, movies, TV shows and trailers.
2 – APATEQ
APACTEQ is a clean-tech startup that designs, develops and manufactures a green, cost-efficient, all-in-one solution product for the treatment of difficult wastewaters.
3 – CarPay-Diem
CarPay-Diem connects drivers with gas stations through a service that activates any fuel pump and manages the payment and loyalty system from inside the car. It integrates with popular mobile apps and connected cars, and works at any gas station.
4 – Fox Beer
Fox Beer is a young Luxembourgish startup that develops and commercializes calorie-reduced, low-carb beers.
5 – JOB TODAY
JOB TODAY is a the number one hiring app in UK and Spain that helps hundreds of thousands of businesses connect with local job seekers in seconds.
6 – LuxAI
LuxAI develops hardware, software and applications for social robots so they can be easily used and integrated in different fields to benefit people and society.
7 – Nektria
Nektria is a Barcelona- and Luxembourg-based startup that has been disrupting urban mobility since 2012. Their products focus on developing SaaS solutions for optimizing fleet management, cost-effective delivery, dynamic pricing and increasing customer satisfaction.
8 – Nomoko
Nomoko is developing a technological solution that will allow the company to create digital copies of entire cities. These precise digital 3D models will serve as the basis for a variety of solutions, from self-driving car simulations and digital infrastructure of cities to computer game development.
9 – Supermiro
Supermiro is an AI-powered personal assistant that finds tailored opportunities for you to go out based on your location, availability, interests and the weather. It also considers whether you’re in the mood to be around friends, family or business people.
